For what it’s worth, it’s a Netcomm something or other, using a Lucent/Agere chipset. The biggest problem I’ve also had, is getting them to play nicely with my WinModem. Much like the way 3d cards took a while to take off, on account of the respective vendors not releasing the code & being somewhat tardy in their effort to do Linux drivers. To be entirely honest, I’d be a little surprised if it was a matter of Microsoft not playing ball - I’m a little more inclined to think it’s a matter of the modem manufacturers not being prepared to share code that’s the problem. I’d like to use Linux but if I can’t get it on the internet than it’s a non-starter. Please follow Adobe's recommendations and uninstall Adobe Flash per their directions.… WINMODEMS. Please fix that ASAP!!! If you need help, contact AppleCare ( AppleCare contact Information ) and after that is fixed. Next, somehow you have managed to turn off Apple's Security. Then restart in Safe Mode per the directions in Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac and then restart normally. Please locate the developers uninstall instructions for CleanMyMac and Bitdefender and follow to the letter. They make Mac OS slow, unstable, generate odd behavior (much like you are experiencing) and make Mac OS appear buggy. The only thing these apps do is have the opposite affect users want. Adding third party antivirus, cleaning, security and other types of maintenance apps to Mac OS adds no additional level of security. All you need to do with Mac OS to keep it secure and running well is to keep it up-to-date and do periodic (about 1x per week) restarts. The best antivirus, cleaning app, and overall maintenance app for Mac OS is Mac OS itself. Please follow the instructions below very closely:
